Welcome back to Thirsty Thursday. This week we are having fun sharing a few design tips on creating decorative tablescapes with beverage jars. One more great way to show off your favorite infused water recipe (hint, hint).
Designing the perfect tablescape takes a touch of imagination and a little pinch of planning. Want to know my secret to creating a beautiful display and interesting tablescape for your guests? Just add elevation! Elevating objects up off the table not only opens up valuable table top space for food and dishware, it adds an enjoyable visual landscape for your guests to explore.
If you are the creative type and like DIY projects, you can make your own beverage jar stand using common kitchen and household items such as a cake plate, inverted crate, upside down flower pot, block of wood, etc., the sky is the limit! Caution, you may have fun getting creative!
However, just in case you are under a time crunch or may not be the creative type, you can still set the perfect elevated tablescape using one of these adorable beverage jars and beverage stands by Sur La Table!
This week’s infused water recipe is all about citrus! Citrus fruits include oranges, lemons, limes and grapefruits, in addition to tangerines and pomelos. Citrus fruits are high in vitamin C, and are good sources of folate and potassium. Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant and protects the body from damaging free radicals.
Citrus Infused Water
1- 2 qt. pitcher of filtered water
1/2 grapefruit, sliced
1/2 lemon, sliced
1/2 lime, sliced
1/2 cucumber, sliced
2-3 mint leaves
Wash and rinse grapefruit, lemon, lime, mint and cucumber. Slice and add all ingredients to water. Allow mixture to chill for about 2 hours before serving over ice. Keep refrigerated. Fresh for up to 2 days.
See you next Thirsty Thursday!
